As he struggles to finish his latest project with the help of a New York critic, the pursuit of the lost dog and the chaos of his film begin to blend and Alan grows desperate for the day to be over.。1950年，南北朝鲜处于对峙内战阶段，战乱并没有影响石峥里这个消息闭塞，民风淳朴的小村子，村子依旧是一片祥和。然而在朴扎熙（郑丽媛 Ryeo-won Jeong 饰）在和未婚夫泽洙成婚前夜，广播传来首尔沦陷的消息，泽洙一家连夜逃跑，一队北朝鲜军队入扎石峥里这个村落，打破了长久以来的宁静。带头的中尉金贞雄（金柱赫 Ju-hyuk Kim 饰）曾和扎熙有过一段美好的童年回忆，是扎熙父亲的故人之子。但是十年前的文学青年已经蜕变成了刚直的军官，扎熙未能一下子认出贞雄，直到偶然见到贞雄的笔记本，一本诗集勾起了她对往事的回忆。军队入扎后，村长为了保全全村人的性命选择了投降，军队和村民的采取平均分配的方式和平共处。两个月过去了，这队从战场浴血奋战过的北朝鲜逐渐被村民们的温情感化，而扎熙和贞雄的感情也日渐浓厚。然而此时贞雄却接到了上级要求他们屠村撤退的命令…。
