故事将延续上一部剧情，多姆与莱蒂共度蜜月，布莱恩与米娅退出了赛车界，众人的生活渐趋平淡，而神秘女子Cipher的出现却打乱了所有平静，她引诱多姆走上犯罪道路，令整个队伍卷入信任与背叛的危机，生死患难的情义面临瓦解崩溃，前所未有的灾难考验着飞车家族。。本作品讲述了在警察“机动搜查队”，机动能力和运动神经首屈一指、但却没有刑事搜查经验也缺乏刑警常识的伊吹蓝（绫野刚饰），观察和社交能力突出,但却不信任自己和别人的理性的刑警、志摩一未（星野源饰），主角二人以24小时的时限内破案为目标的故事。 标题中的“MIU”是Mobile Investigative Unit（机动搜查队）的首字母，“404”是两人饰演机动搜查队员的呼叫信号。。A young woman running a wildlife sanctuary in the Australian outback is in for trouble when she is confronted by three kangaroo hunters.
