故事发生在台湾南部边陲小镇。旅社因老板黑猫（陆奕静 饰）得名，她当年可是一名红极一时的舞女，如今的她不修边幅，整日胡吃海塞，完全没有了当年的风韵。旅社内住着三教九流，阿南（余佩真 饰）来自越南，只想挣点钱回家盖房子，身在异乡打工的她心中充满凄苦。老邓（夏靖庭 饰）一直暗恋黑猫，就算入狱也不曾断了念想，这不，一出狱便飞奔到黑猫旅社。浅野先生（荫山征彦 饰）来自日本，明明已经失业，偏偏要装出上班的样子。刘六（温吉兴 饰）因遭女儿指控，整日闭门谢客，连阿南打扫卫生都不能进入其房间。妓女玲珑（黄采仪 饰）年老色衰，与弱智儿子共处一室，她发现自已患了艾滋......。天才少年古云，因为被上古神族中下神印，导致灵力减弱，成为青山门公认的废物，被贬为杂役。父亲因此被牵连，废除族长之位，囚禁在敌人飞卢家族的天牢里。这时古云发现了自己身上隐藏的秘密，并且跟古神达成合作协议。结束上一段旅程，开始新的探索，开拓新的眼界。。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios. Urban is a fluent Spanish-speaker, and plays an uncredited role as the Argentine radio operator.。
