上海话剧艺术中心和英国壁虎剧团正在排演一部新戏《惊梦》，故事灵感来源于汤显祖的《牡丹亭》和莎士比亚的《仲夏夜之梦》。汤显祖比莎士比亚年长十四岁，两人在同一年去世。他们虽素昧平生，却又遥相呼应，在同一个时代创造出东西方戏剧艺术的巅峰之作。纪录片《邂逅》以中英艺术家的创作活动为切入点，钩沉历史，还原汤显祖与莎士比亚的戏剧人生。力图让观者在欣赏中国传统艺术之大美的同时，重新认识作为一个士大夫的有血有肉的汤显祖，揭示名著《牡丹亭》诞生背后的故事。。在一家巴西诊所里，做医生的爸爸约钦发现自己的女儿莎拉染上极度痛苦的病症。爸爸去找出原因，但没有任何线索。他决定追踪事情的原因，竟然发现女儿被秘密遣送回法国。更可怕的是，事情的真相将会完全地破坏他的生活...。God casts Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden because Eve decided to have a fling with a visiting Cro-Magnon named Bearkiller.
