Every year, thousands of high schoolers enter the August Wilson monologue competition for a chance to perform on Broadway. This film follows these students, examining how Wilson and his characters speak to a new generation, inspiring them to listen to his words and find their own voice.。10岁的小女孩卡米诺（Nerea Camacho 饰）生长在一个笃信天主教的家庭，疼爱她的父母、皈依天主的姐姐（Manuela Vellés 饰）、天真的小伙伴以及心仪的男孩（Lucas Manzano 饰），周遭的亲人和朋友让卡米诺的世界多姿多彩，幸福洋溢。但一场灾祸向这个纯真烂漫的小女孩袭来，她罹患了罕见的疾病，病情逐渐恶化。卡米诺无时无刻不在向耶稣祈求，能够早日回到朋友中来……
