The film tells the story of three people for a year: a son (Magimel) diagnosed with cancer, a mother (Deneuve) suffering from helplessness and a doctor (Cécile de France) to do her job: One year and four seasons for these three characters to deal with the disease, to tame it, and to understand what it means to die while alive.。2006年中国大连导盲犬基地正式成立，06-07年中国训练出第一批导盲犬，珍妮就是第一批导盲犬毕业班的其中的成员。导盲犬的服役时间约8年左右，2014年这些第一批的导盲犬将面临退役，然而，这8年中间他们与自己盲人爸爸妈妈产生了深厚的感情，从盲人角度来说，他们陷入了矛盾，陪伴着自己8年的“孩子”面临退役，新的导盲犬即将到来，他们如何安置退役的导盲犬，这些盲人难以抉择。。
