Four families in a Heartland town are tested in a single day when a tornado hits, forcing paths to cross and redefining the meaning of survival.。Shetland is BACK to answer all of the questions that left us hanging at the end of the last series.。供职于纽约曼哈顿一家广告代理机构的职业摄影师乔治（Jake Weber 杰克•韦伯饰）每日里过着紧张忙碌的生活，为了缓解工作所带来的巨大压力，他带着妻子金（Patricia Clarkson 饰）和儿子米尔斯（Erik Per Sullivan 饰）驱车前往山中的小屋度假。 不过他们的旅途并不顺利，途中乔治的汽车撞死一只跑到路中央的鹿，并因此和自称猎人的奥提斯（John Speredakos 饰）发生争吵。抵达目的地后，一家人始终为一种莫名的恐惧和压迫感所困扰。继而又从便利店老板口中得知了半人半鹿怪物Wendigo的传说。令他们怎么也想不到的是，这个传说正逐渐变成现实……。
