In the dusty streets of Crow's Landing, outlaws, wealthy plantation owners, runaway slaves, a half Cherokee girl, a pair of brothel owners and a woman days away from giving birth all end up in a bloody shoot out and running for their lives.。A man begins to suspect that his long-distance girlfriend, whom he met online but has never met in person, has been living in the same city the whole time and sets out to find her.。Production I.Gが制作、ニトロプラスの人気脚本家・虚淵玄がシリーズ構成、「鋼の錬金術師」「コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ」といった人気作品で演出を手がけてきた村田和也が監督を務め、2013年4～6月にテレビ放送されたオリジナルSFアニメーション「翠星のガルガンティア」の続編となるOVA前編。愛機チェインバーとの別れから約半年。大海原を行く船団ガルガンティアで、仲間たちとともに新たな人生を踏み出していたレドは、サルベージチームの一員として働くかたわら、失われた旧地球文明の痕跡をたどっていた。そんな彼の前に、かつての上官クーゲルの船団からやってきた少女リーマが現れ……。OVAの新キャラクターとして登場するリーマ役の声優は、NHK連続テレビ小説「あまちゃん」にも出演した水瀬いのり。。
