Peggy, a former addict, who decides to make a new start after the death of her beloved mother with whom she lived in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California, makes a life-changing decision to become a private investigator.。毫无戒备的酒店员工爱上了一位客人，而后被卷入一个绑架人质计划，并在意想不到之地找到了真爱。。爾仔（吳肇軒飾演）女友茹可以（盧惠敏飾演）在法國工作假期計劃期間突然失蹤，爾仔守住可以留下的書店希望等對方歸來。及後書店生意每況愈下，爾仔為維持書店，於是接受好友拖羅（繆浩昌飾演）的意見，在書店開設「身後事務所」以增加收入，專責代處理逝者遺物，卻因此遇上亡魂，為死者解開心結。。
